Survivors may feel shame and it can be isolating, often when they feel like the abuse was their fault. The nest offers support, especially when family relationships can become strained
Healing
When community can gather to witness and advocate for survivors, it allows not only the survivors to heal, but the community as a whole
Connection
Survivors and those who support survivors can be witnessed together. Individuals can also reconnect to themselves after feeling isolated and separated from themselves
